Asking Forgiveness

Bethel wronged David, and after I dealt with her about it, she dutifully went over to ask forgiveness of her brother. As she attempted to hug him (not something I’ve required in awhile, but something she still does), he brushed her aside and refused to talk with her.
So then I called David over and asked him about the incident. It looked like he was holding a grudge, and not wanting to forgive her. He said he was willing to forgive, but he didn’t want her to hug him. Which is it? If I were certain of one motive over the other, my response would be easy, but I’m not certain. My policy is when I’m unsure, to assume the best (I Corinthians 13:7). So for the moment, I’ll ask Bethel to refrain from hugging, and insist that David forgive and not hold a grudge. Now that I think of it, not much would change either way in this case.
Camping was… um… exciting. Bethel and Laurel got sick last night, with Bethel throwing up multiple times throughout the night, so we came home early. I’ve put tent down as one of those places where vomit is particularly loathsome. She seems fine today so far. We’ll see.

Did you tell Bethel to ask for forgivenesss? That seems like a good step on her own.
Uhhgg! on throw up in a tent. I had to deal with a very dirty son while camping bc I didn’t bring enough cool weather clothes, but vomit is way worse!!

I did tell her to ask forgiveness. I’ve not ever seen them do that on their own yet. Won’t that be an exciting day!
Kids are all better now, it seems.
