Lee had an interesting discussion with our son this past weekend. He had done something unkind, and Lee had taken him aside to question him a little further. In the course of conversation, David revealed that he had done this thing because…. he likes to irritate his sister.
This confession opens up the ongoing conversation quite a bit. Truly, we don’t have the ability to love others like we should, without God’s grace in our lives. But I’m comparing that with the girls and their apparent growing enjoyment of being kind and loving. Is this simply a gender difference?
Perhaps there’s an underlying conviction of sin that is emerging in this way, a conviction that I don’t see yet in the younger children.
I need to pray for my children and their salvation more. I need to pray right now.
