Love this quote for today:

I am not the mother I want to be, but I am growing towards it.

Paul’s instruction for the older women to teach the younger women to love their children carries the implication that this love is learned. That’s encouraging to me, because I know I don’t naturally love my children as I ought.

Other verses support this idea that Christian success is more of a journey than a destination

Micah 6:8 says He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

James tells us to draw near to God and he will draw near to us, that God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Paul tells us that he forgets the things that are behind him and presses toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God.

There IS joy in the journey, particularly if we don’t get caught up saying “Are we there yet?” every hour.
