A New Blog Post

I know I’ve been delinquent in posting and keeping readers updated. Blogging is important and valuable to me, so it’s worth working to keep it going.

Catching up… we received notice that Lee has been approved for a fellowship in neonatology, so we’ll be moving to Texas next summer. We will miss Alamogordo and our church here. New things of any kind are rather terrifying for me, but God is good and I am happy He’s in control! One of the great things about being in the military is that much of the stress of moving is taken care of; movers come and pack everything up, take it away, and then take it out of boxes in the new location.

Lee and I managed to get to Hawaii for our tenth anniversary. We figured since we were apart more of the year than together, a week alone was warranted. We have also found that getting away for a little bit gives us a chance to talk about our budget and goals (Many in the Brock family are big on goal making. I’m glad when I get my teeth brushed in the morning.) Speaking of goals, I’m still working on my house cleaning skills. It’s a good thing this blog is devoted to children, otherwise you’d get 365 days of growth as a house cleaner. I’m a slow learner, but I do see progress.

  • Michelle,
I am so happy to see you back on here! The wisdom God gives you is really a blessing to me, and even just reading about your daily challenges gives me hope in a strange way.
What a great 10 year anniversary gift!
You’ll be moving to my large state of Texas, too. What part are you reloacting to?

  • Monica– We’ll be in San Antonio. Maybe our paths will cross while we’re there. That would be GREAT!

  • Wow, you are about 4-5 hours away, but I visit from time to time =)
It’s a great city with so much to do, but I’m not too sure about a church around there. That must be the hard part in moving. I’ll pray for you about that.

  • Well, we are happy – it means a greater likelihood of visits with your family, and your extended family!

Congratulations on the Hawaii trip. Saw pictures and wondered what the occasion was. Happy 10th! :-D

I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog, but my greatest desire for my audience is that they would be inspired and motivated to search the scriptures for themselves. God promises to give wisdom to any believer who searches for it His way. Here are some Bible study links I have found of interest and help.

Chronological Bible: ESV

Read the Bible chronologically. The first time I read through the Bible in the order everything happened, I learned so much and gained an incredible understanding of the big picture of Scripture. If you've never done it, you should!

Bible Gateway

From this website you can search for scriptures in a number of versions and languages by key words, phrases, or references. I use this website often when I post Scripture on my blog, so then I don't have to worry about typing in the verse accurately.

Treasury of Scripture Knowledge

This is a fantastic online version of a classic reference tool. Basically this is a list of cross references based on particular passages. Simply click on the verse or passage you are studying, and you will find other references to other relevant Scripture.

Bible Commentaries Online

A list of classic Bible commentaries. Sometimes they're hard to understand, but they can be helpful when you're wanting more insight into a passage you are studying.

More Bible Study Resources

This is a page of links for articles and audio on the topic of studying the Bible. Some are not easy to read, but they are helpful.
The rest of this website has a tremendous amount of resources that may be of interest.
