Good idea, bad time. We’ve put the crib back in the room.
Laurel actually did fine at night. She woke up out of bed twice the first night, once the second night, and not the third night. Naptime was much harder, even when she was tired and would normally have gone right to sleep. It just seemed more like a game, and I couldn’t take that away. Ultimately, the inconvenience of having her in the bed was greater than the inconvenience of putting her in the crib, and I’m still feeling the need for more sleep.
My dad says that if you never make mistakes, you’re not achieving your potential. We’ll try again in a month or two. I’ll resist the urge to write about boundaries, security, and maturity, but they’re worth thinking about.
