Sometimes wisdom isn’t doing something different, but thinking differently, as a result of Scripture.
Proverbs 3:21-26 says, My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
There are some things I don’t worry about at all, and then I worry that I’m not worried. Am I cold? Hardhearted? When I look at God’s Word, I can rest in the knowledge that wisdom results in a lack of worry. That’s reassuring to me.
On the other hand, the Holy Spirit probes just a bit as I realize that I DO worry about some things, particularly what I’m doing with my children sometimes. So I guess I need more wisdom, more time delighting in God’s Word (as Kelly said here), more prayer for wisdom.
