Today the children were all relatively peaceful. I’m sure it wasn’t all me. No milk was spilled (although I’ve not yet put on a cloth tablecloth this week, just in case). Some sharing happened. The dog is happily chewing on a nylabone during school.
I’m still working on the right thinking. I spent good time in God’s Word today. I’ve got a good dinner cooking (not just leftovers). I’ve got the laundry going. I’ve relaxed a little in my expectations with Bethel and school (just because she’s capable doesn’t mean I should push her).
However, I need to stop mindless clicking on the internet. I’ve been worrying on a few recurring troubles. I’ve eaten all the licorice that was supposed to last longer than a few days. And I need to finish getting the house ready for church tonight and Bible study tomorrow morning.
If I look at my day as a series of events, I might miss out.
Hebrews 12:1-3
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
