Here’s how God’s word is changing me this week.
You may know that making phone calls in inexplicably difficult for me, so this is one area where I can tell if I’m walking in the spirit or not. Walking in the spirit = Michelle makes phone calls. Not walking in the spirit= Michelle avoids making phone calls and feels miserable.
Guess what I did last week? Really, I did walk in the spirit at some point, I’m sure I did. But I didn’t make the phone calls I needed to. I was afraid, irrational fear, and that fear kept me from loving others as I should. While I was lecturing a child about fear keeping us from loving, the Lord gently reminded me that I needed to repent of the same sin.
So I did. And I meditated all yesterday morning on this passage:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; II Timothy 1:6-8
Yesterday afternoon, I made my phone calls.
How about you? Is God’s Word changing you this week? How?
